Got a great "gig with a Casino" for the charity "Meningitis Now" in Woldingham, Surrey March 29th.  It's going to be a LOT of fun - details here - as will the TR Festival in Hertfordshire on Saturday May 24th 2014.

What The Papers Say

They’re called The ZARRS. They’re brilliant... they play bluesy rock and the crowd is theirs.  The Matt Foster Blog - Dublin Castle Gig Review 18 Aug. 2011

The ZARRS – For those of you looking for a current band with that classic rock/pop rock sound this one is for you!  This six member band from London, UK sounds great and their music really backs up their claim of being “ultra-accessible”.  Similar artists include Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, The Doors, and Kasabian.
From PaperBlog - Nov 28, 2012

The ZARRS are a unique breed, blending great song craft with subtle musicianship, great chorus lines, interesting subject material and a live performance, which doesn’t fail to get you shakin’ your thang!

Bonjour

So this week we're happy to be writing from the South of France and very happy that the sun today seems to have finally broken through after three days of grey skies and a load of rain that has left my car looking like it's been hit by a beach!  I know the UK's had much the same weather so no complaints from here with the dogs particularly enjoying jumping into the Canal du Midi to herd the ducks.  There are a lot of ducks.

Got some great news before I left London though - The Zarrs are to headline Sunday night at Curious Yellow Weekend.  For those not in the know, CYW is a great and highly regarded festival near Peterborough which runs this year from July 4th - 6th.  Weekend tickets are available at their website for £30 - and that includes camping, too.  One thing though, CYW has good but restricted capacity so now is the time to make plans and as it happens, The Zarrs have a few tickets for sale on a first come, first served basis and at a reduced price on our website so get 'em while they last.

Had a really lively fundraiser gig at The Woldingham Village Club last Saturday where over three thousand pounds was raised for the charity Meningitis Now.  It was the first time we've played a few non-Zarrs songs at a gig and the combination worked really well so thanks to Tom Petty, The Wilburys, Beatles, Stones and a few others for their contribution to the fundraising, too :-)

On the recording front, we're just waiting on the artwork for the CD and we'll be able to release.  It's really exciting for us and we're really pleased the way the tracks have come out - don't worry, you won't miss it.  We'll make a big noisy splash!

Don't forget to check in here now and then and why now head over to follow us on Facebook - if you're on that service - as we'll have a series of new Zarrs website quizes coming up soon - one a week or so - the first prize on offer; two tickets to sax player Nicole's birthday gig at Camden's "Barfly" and the after party is going to be something special :-)

Be seein' you.
