How long?????

Amazingly after almost 18 months The Zarrs began rehearsals few weeks ago after being booked for the prestigious Foodies Festival - and the icing on the cake (there may well be a few food references that Eddie liked to include, 😞 sorry) - and the icing on the cake was that almost immediately we slipped back into the music we’d never been away.

Adding custard to the crumble was the fact that we weren’t being booked for one festival but for four!  Two in London, one Oxford and then off to Bristol in September.
I’ve linked the dates, details and tickets here if you’d like to come along for a day of top tv chefs, great food, wine and music.  Headliners joining The Zarrs are Scouting For Girls, Toploader and Sophie Ellis-Bextor and tribute bands The Killerz and Ultimate Coldplay plus some really good support acts.  Fortunately The Zarrs are in the main support slot so we’ll have time for a beer and a bite to eat after our set lol.

Making sure we’re keeping The Zarrs fuse sparking between festivals we’ve agreed a pop up gig in St Albans at the Blacksmiths Arms in early September to run a couple of new songs as well as our (and some others’) old favourites.  A kind of Country Rock flavour with the meat of the two and a half hour set being ours as usual.  Be great if you could make it.

Eddie says that we’re going to try to blog more regularly from now on - don’t worry, not every week lol - just when we’ve got something to chat about and not just about The Zarrs, but about other bands and stuff.  Maybe even food after the Foodies Festivals lol.

Stay safe until next time (and beyond).

Well, well...

Hi Zarrs people.

I've left the last blog posting up because it is maybe significant.  I don't know.  It's certainly been a long time between posts anyhow.  Certainly in my life it has been significant.

It's been over two years in fact, yes that's TWO YEARS since the last Zarrs blog appeared.  I read it, too.  It's not very good is it?  Not very inspiring at all.  All a bit blah....  No, it's all right (or alright) you can agree without hurting anyone's feelings.  Certainly not mine!  After all we're only here to make music, not anything else, right?

Although, is that absolutely true?  An absolute say, like absolute zero or something?  Well maybe not.  Anyhow what is true is that I, Eddie, have been preoccupied with other things and one of them has been a serious 'bout' of depression.  Serious enough to get me into serious trouble (which I won't go into here) and serious enough for me to eventually seek medical help.  Serious enough that I haven't felt 'worthy' of reaching out to you to remind you that we have some really nice tee shirts and a great Zarrs hoodie on our website.  Since the last blog post I have been seeing someone to help and working with him to find my old (or new) self.  I think we're finally bringing me out of the mire.  Which is great because remembering lyrics (yeah, I know I wrote them but still...) and remembering to take my pills has been really difficult.  I see now that men do have a basic multi-tasking problem!  Like being in a band though, I was unable to get out by myself.

So anyhow, The Zarrs are back (thanks for staying with me guys throughout) and we've got some serious new stuff coming up in the next few months so do stay in touch.

Please don't get me wrong I'm not looking for sympathy or donations at all (though tee shirts sales would obviously alleviate my problem lol) but just wanted you guys to know that The Zarrs are back and back with a passion and we hope to see you at a gig soon - starting with the 6th of March in Uxbridge.

Please come if you can but, more importantly, please be a little less judgemental of our fellow beings.  They may look great but unless they're boiling bunnies we really don't know what is going on behind the scenes.

Thanks for reading and be well.

Here we go again...

So we're into 2018 and the world has changed almost beyond recognition but in the heart of the chaos The Zarrs stand firm as a beacon of stability and strength (no, not really lol).  The Zarrs do stand for continuity and sanity in these crazy times and their music reaches the places others fail to go and there's more to come in 2018.  A lot more to come in 2018.

Three festivals already booked and after six months of rest and recuperation we're back with bang in a whole new Thursday Club regular monthly venue to be announced soon and a set of songs new and old that'll cheer your year.

Stay posted for details of upcoming gigs and festivals and of course the 'pop up' gigs we enjoy so much.  Who knows we may be coming to a place near you in the not too distant.  And if there's a place near you you'd like to see us let us know here and we'll see what we can do to get there.  It doesn't have to be big or flash, we just love to play.

Anyhow, we'll be back with more news soon and some great ways to win free tickets to gigs, Zarrs merch and some surprising other stuff you wont want to miss so if you're not in our Zarrs friends group join us now so you get to hear about the good stuff before anyone else!
